Introduction

The Energy Drink industry is dominating the sports world. Although there are many options to choose from there really are only few dominant figures. Monster for example has many commercials and sponsored extreme and non extreme sporting events. Although an up and coming competitor who is very social media savy (XYIENCE) is attempting to infiltrate the market. Will Monster hold on to its share of wallet, or will Xyience steal some market share?

Very interactive and attractive layout with moving pictures and the option for galleries, music, videos, and news. Even AMA with sponsored athletes.
Very colourful, no GIF’s or interactive pictures. Very few pictures but very enlarged, very bright colours, almost all flavours are on web page.

Google Trends Insights:

Over the past twelve months Monster is dominating the trend graph, and Xyience is not even noticeable. Monster has doubled and tripled even at different points its own category of energy drinks. This shows that Monster is ahead of the curve when it comes to Energy Drink trends.

Summary:

My findings are that Monster is a dominant force in the Energy Drink industry. Also that Xyience Energy Drinks, are lacking in many aspects to reach consumers through Search Engine Optimization. The Strength of each site is that they are very colourful and have links to various forms of social media.

Conclusion:

In conclusion Monster has the superior site. It had a very well optimized site and is currently dominating the trends in the energy drink market. Xyience although a newcomer has all the tools available to maximize its efforts through Search Engine Optimization but is still lacking in implementing such tools.
