Monster vs XYIENCE on Fan Pages, and Influencers, and Inbound Links

XYIENCE does have a Facebook page, however it was not possible to find a fan page that was not an official one owned by XYIENCE. That being said there are remnants of collaborations with American college and universities where a contest was previously held the most recent one was February of this year! There is not a celebrity that has endorsed XYIENCE but a sports reporter from ESPN named Sam Ponder has been acquired to do commercials.

A recent influencer would be a review from someone with followers. A YouTuber named “Food review Shawty” has recently reviewed XYIENCE and has at least 2300 followers. If you do not have time to watch his review he rated XYIENCE 5/5.

Another website named Body Building Pro, a website that promotes healthy and safe products to its fan base. This website specializes in helping people who want to build muscle or currently are body builders that want to maintain their muscular bodies. This positive review would definitely influence people to give XYIENCE a try!

Monster also does not any unofficial fan pages, but it is mentioned in a very popular website when it comes to useful facts and info on caffeine and caffeine containing products. A positive review would help attract more customers through this product rating site. Many people who are influenced by informed decisions will benefit from this review and be more likely to purchase Monster Energy drinks.

Another review for monster on the front page of SERP, is a bad one. This is not exactly something Monster wants as a brand! The bashing continues to outline all the bad that comes as part of being a Monster customer. The verdict is that in small amounts once in a while a Monster Energy drink is not bad for you. But with sponsored athletes and Monster pushing it as an everyday routine there is a bit of a contradiction here.

Lastly another review of monster on the first page of SERP, is a negative one. On WEBMD a very popular health site. Somehow Monster is being linked to the death of a human being. Amidst the recent links, it is safe to say XYIENCE wins when it comes to Fan pages, influencers, inbound links for both brands.

Monster vs XYIENCE on YouTube

YouTube is an addictive place to visit and a lot of people spend their days watching short videos whether it is awesome podcast or how to videos or especially music videos. With short videos on YouTube companies and others can tell a story. XYIENCE unfortunately has not posted any videos in the last 6 months. This is not a good trend nor is it a good way to provide content to its fans. Monster seems to post on average once a week. Monster posts videos about its sponsored athletes and as well as clips of its sponsored events. XYIENCE’s most recent posts is just isolated to one event and with one person, Sam Ponder a college football reporter. I cannot really say that XYIENCE has a most successful video, but if I have to choose it would be their first video 8 months ago with 9k views and Monster’s most recent one had 242k views, its clear Monster has it together on YouTube. I think XYIENCE’s video was successful because it was new and fresh and using those factors made people curious but after that it had zero presence. Monster’s video was successful because it had a video of one of its athletes and as well created a YouTube series called “The Doctor” which was a 5 episode series, with lots of beautiful views from many race tracks around the world and short interviews as well as some actual racing footage from the Grand Premio D’Italia which is motorsport at its most fine spine-tingling and tribal. Monster has 957 videos and XYIENCE has 15. Monster wins again.

Monster vs XYIENCE Energy Drink Facebook War

It seems that a lot of companies have Facebook pages these days. With social media so important in today’s world, Facebook could be one of the best places to bring up brand awareness and acquire new customers. It is also important for companies to be current and entertaining to its customers and fans to be followed on Facebook and stay followed on Facebook. Let us look at Monster and XYIENCE at a glance. Monster has been posting every day for the past 25 posts, including pictures and quotes as well as mentioning athletes with a big fan base. All this contributes to Monster’s brand awareness. XYIENCE a competitor and a smaller brand’s last post was also every day for the past 25 days. Alright! Let’s call them even for now. Another funny thing I noticed is that most companies do not post on holidays, it is as if even social media takes a day off. Now although Monster has all these athletes and events to talk about XYIENCE does post pictures often with MEMES and positive messages.  What’s the verdict on Professional Etiquette? Well both most definitely follow the 50/50 rule but Monster does it less so, we can assume they are safe from losing customers either way for now. Monster tends to be using athlete names as keywords and hashtags of its sponsored events. While XYIENCE has zero hyperlinks or hashtags but does like to use its own names in its titles a lot. Definitely got to give this category win to Monster. Let us look at who has the most successful posts…. Monsters had 896k views of its pinned post as well as 2988 shares. XYIENCE has 9 likes and 1 share. Safe to say Monster wins by a landslide.  I think Monster was successful because they tagged Valentino Rossi a motorcycle athlete and as well used a hashtag for the event VR46 Series, AND even linked a shortcut to a YouTube video, but they even embedded it just in case. XYIENCE did none of the above mentioned....

Google Trends:

Include your topic, and your two brands.  Include the search terms with your screen capture.

Google Trends Insights:

The topic that our group chose was on energy drinks. The two bands that I compared was 5-Hour energy and Nos energy drink. As the graph shows the energy drink trend has large peaks and valleys throughout the 12 month period. When it comes to the brands, 5 Hour energy has a large trend boost between September and October. But soon after starts to return to normal. The large spike could be from a new flavor release or a large promotion of the product. Nos energy drink does not show many peaks and valleys as compared to 5-hour energy this could be due to a lack of marketing and exposer.

Latent Semantic Indexing Keywords:

5-hour energy keywords
·        5 hour energy drink ingredients
·        5 hour energy reviews
·        5 hour energy berry

Nos energy drink
·        Nos energy drink flavors
·        Nos active energy drink
·        Nos energy drink nutrition facts

Summary:

When searching both brands using the LSI generator a lot of the same keywords were found such as drink ingredients, flavors, and reviews. Both sites have very similar content on them as well as the same wording. Even when looking up the keyword “energy drinks” I found that there were many different brands to choose from, that it wasn’t till the second page that I found a picture of a Nos energy drink. I found that I had to be more specific with my keyword searches. For example I had to use the keyword “energy shot” in order to find 5-Hour Energy.

Conclusion:

To conclude this report, I found Nos Energy drink to be the brand that got the most attention. When searching the keyword “energy drink” it was the brand that provided information on the first page as well as a visual display of the product. 5-Hour Energy was labeled as a shot so it wasn’t until I changed the keyword to “energy shot” that it was displayed on google but still was not found on the first page.
